A lot of people have been asking me if there’s a Trouble in Vegas 2013. I hadn’t heard any news (and still really haven’t heard any news) since the tournament is organized by someone outside of Las Vegas. However, I did just learn that this message was posted on the USA Ultimate website:
No website yet, but there is an email for those interested in submitting a bid. It’s always great to have so many ultimate players in Las Vegas. I’ll reach out to the email to see if I can get more info as well. Pastore posted the following information about the Las Vegas open sectionals team that he’s putting together on the LV Ultimate Facebook group: So far I know Brian Kilkenny, Diego Johnson, Greg Woods, Jon Darrow are all in. Who else? Let’s do this! If you’re interested in playing, send Pastore an email at: chris.pastore@me.com The following are the standings after the regular season for summer league: Based on these standings, the games for the tournament will be as follow (using the rankings from above): Monday, 7/30 Also, we’re talking about when to do pickup after league. We’ve done it on Monday night in the past, but we’re considering moving it to Tuesday night since we have pickup on Saturday and Sunday already. I started the discussion on Facebook about it, so go to the LV Ultimate Facebook group to vote for Monday or Tuesday. Here’s the schedule for summer league.
Whoever the team is that’s playing the first game will do a pickup game on the other field from 8-9. That way any visitors that want to play with us this summer can show up at 8 to play. Let me know if something doesn’t look quite right or if you have any questions. I did my best to divide the teams as evenly as possible. I ranked each player as low, medium, and high based on what they said when they registered and a few corrections for people like Diego that think they’re only average. Then, I went down the list assigning them to a team. You’ll see that Chad, Kilkenny, and Greg are the captains of each team. Everyone should show up tomorrow from 7-9. A nice two hours of ultimate fun and exercise. Also, you’ll need to sign a sheet for the team your on tomorrow as well. You should see it being passed around. Any questions, feel free to ask. As was mentioned in my previous post about Las Vegas Summer League Ultimate Frisbee, Monday will be the start of summer league. Everyone should come ready to play from 7:00-9:00 PM. We’ll be doing open play the first night so we can make the teams as fair as possible. Then, on Wednesday we’ll start the official games. The fields are at Accacia Park in Henderson, 50 Casa Del Fuego Street Henderson, NV 89012 MAP After Monday we’ll be putting together a full schedule for the league. Also, if you or a friend wants to come and play in the summer league, tell them to come on Monday with $15. Late signups won’t be a problem. The more the merrier. See you on Monday! Great News everyone!! We’ve finally been able to nail down some fields to hold an ultimate frisbee summer league with the City of Henderson (Las Vegas fields were too expensive for summer). Trouble in Vegas is an amazing tournament and a great time for some of the best ultimate players in the world to come to Las Vegas. Last year was announced as the last Trouble in Vegas, but thankfully they ignored that and are doing Trouble in Vegas 2012. Here are the details: Trouble in Vegas Returns (Mar 3-4, 2012) Riding hot from 2011 and just not ready to cash in its chips, Trouble in Vegas returns for another year of good stories and bad choices. Like last year, 2012′s TiV will be uniting both the college and club divisions together for one insane weekend. With spots for upwards of 100 teams, you’ll definitely want to be a part of another year of trouble. Head on over to http://troubleinvegas.org to register your team today! Looks like teams are signing up fast, so you better get signed up if you want to enjoy some Ultimate Frisbee in Las Vegas. Thanks everyone for participating in summer league ultimate. We’ll have a League BBQ (JD’s cooking) at 8:00 before the lights go out at 9:15. Everyone that can, give JD or myself $5+ for food. The more we get, the better the food! Bring out your friends and family. Everyone’s welcome!
Post League Disc
Just because league is over doesn’t mean ultimate in Las Vegas is over. Everyone is welcome at the ultimate pickup games which are laid back and a lot of fun. Check out the Las Vegas ultimate frisbee pickup games for the regular list of pickup games and we’ll be posting the pickup games on the Las Vegas Ultimate Facebook group as well.

Thanks for everyone who signed up for League. We reached our goal for sign-ups and have enough for 4 teams to start playing tomorrow. We’re still finalizing a few of the teams and so come tomorrow to meet your team. So far, we’ve been able to take everyone’s team preference into account. Tomorrow night will be the start to league games. Please bring a light and dark shirt since that’s how we’ll distinguish teams this first week. After that, each team captain can work with their team to choose a color. We will be playing games this first week so come ready to play. Here are the details: We could still use a female player or two, so if you know a lady that would like to play, bring her out. Just have her come a little bit early so she can fill out the paperwork and write a check for the $15. If you have any questions, just leave a comment and I’ll try and answer.
